In parallel with our 2023\u20132024 greenhouse gas emissions inventory, we acquired carbon credits equivalent to the emissions generated.<\/p>

What does offsetting mean?
It means providing financial support to certified environmental projects in developing countries that capture or absorb greenhouse gases equivalent to those generated by our activities.<\/p>

Thanks to our inherently low\u2011emission business model, all remaining emissions have been fully offset through VERRA\u2011certified carbon credits, supporting projects with significant environmental and social impact.<\/p>

Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary, Cambodia
Prostand used carbon credits for its 2023 emissions to support the conservation of the tropical forests of the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary in Cambodia, safeguarding a biodiversity-rich habitat and protecting a territory of fundamental importance to the indigenous Bunong communities. The offsetting project complies with the REDD+ criteria (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation), an international mechanism recognised by the United Nations.<\/p>

Baspa-II Hydroelectric Power Plant, India
The carbon credits generated by Prostand\u2019s offsetting programme in 2024 financed the Baspa-II Hydroelectric Power Plant in India, a run-of-the-river facility located in Kuppa, in the state of Himachal Pradesh, with a capacity of 300 MW. This type of plant generates clean energy by diverting part of the natural flow of the Baspa River, without the need for large artificial reservoirs.<\/p>

Some of the actions that Prostand carries out in practice to mitigate CO2 emissions:

– Regeneration and reuse of materials: wood panels, aluminium materials, and carpeting are reused-by us and our suppliers- until the end of their life cycle, in order to significantly reduce the amount of waste to be disposed of.

– Reduction of energy consumption: we use latest-generation LED lamps

– We reduce CO2 emissions from road transport: we use modular and collapsible furniture

– FSC\u00ae and PEFC\u2122 certified wood and wood-based products; \u201czero emission\u201d coloured paints completely free of formaldehyde and solvents and with low resin content.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
