Prostand is the first company in its industry to have completely offset its CO2 emissions
through mitigation strategies and the purchase of certified carbon credits.
MEASURE
WE MEASURE
Since 2023, we have been measuring our carbon
footprint.
This is a fundamental step in understanding the climate impact of our activities and communicating it transparently, based on measurable and verifiable data.
The analysis of our climate impact follows the most rigorous international standards and represents a useful starting point for guiding future decisions on emissions management.
OFFSETT
WE OFFSET
Beyond measurement: we offset our
total emissions.
Alongside the inventory of greenhouse gas emissions generated in 2023, we have purchased a quantity of carbon credits equivalent to the emissions generated.
What does offsetting mean?
It means that Prostand has financially supported certified environmental projects capable of capturing or absorbing a specific amount of greenhouse gases, equivalent to those emitted by its activities.
Through the purchase of carbon credits, we are helping to support the Keo Seima project in Cambodia, which aims to:
• Preserving tropical forest heritage
• Safeguarding a habitat rich in biodiversity
• Protecting a territory for the indigenous Bunong communities
The compensation project meets the criteria of REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation), an international mechanism recognized by the United Nations.
REDUCE
WE REDUCE
We reduce our emissions through the progressive implementation of a mitigation plan
Some of the actions that Prostand carries out in practice to mitigate CO2 emissions:
– Regeneration and reuse of materials: wood panels, aluminium materials, and carpeting are reused-by us and our suppliers- until the end of their life cycle, in order to significantly reduce the amount of waste to be disposed of.
– Reduction of energy consumption: we use latest-generation LED lamps
– We reduce CO2 emissions from road transport: we use modular and collapsible furniture
– FSC® and PEFC™ certified wood and wood-based products; “zero emission” coloured paints completely free of formaldehyde and solvents and with low resin content.

Our environmental communication – particularly that relating to CO₂ emissions – is guided by an essential principle:
For this reason, we scrupulously adhere to a European regulatory framework that prohibits any form of ambiguous or misleading statement.
In particular:
– Directive 2005/29/EC and its 2021 Guidance constitute the legal basis against greenwashing and also apply to environmental claims.
– Directive 2006/114/EC, relevant in the B2B sector, requires that any environmental claim made must be substantiated, verifiable and not misleading, especially when compared with competitors.
– The recent EU Directive 2024/825, applicable from 2026, introduces new criteria for environmental claims.
